Product Description
Post a CommentInspired by Genius Hours and 20% Time, I created this Passion Project to give my students increased voice and agency in my literature classes. This project provides students with the right amount of freedom to help them fly inside the structure to help them soar.
The Passion Project helps students master many of the Reading Informational, Writing, Language, and Speaking & Listening standards in the high school strands.
Throughout this semester-length project, students will be researching a topic of their own choosing, writing a research paper and a persuasive letter, presenting about their passion, and creating a product related to their chosen topic. Students are encouraged to think outside the box to complete all of the required steps.
This is perfect for career research projects, social justice projects, empathy projects, community service projects, etc.
WHAT YOU GET: With this product, you will get 159 pages of slides and documents to help make passion projects a success. That's 14 slide presentations and 24 documents. This includes:
-An overview slide presentation with standards, directions, and helpful hints for students
-A blank deadlines slide presentation to help students keep track of deadlines over this long project
-individual instructions as slide presentations for each of the 7 steps along the way
-documents and worksheets for students to fill out
-2 notes slides
-2 quizzes (with keys!) to assess student understanding during the two major writing projects
-a slide presentation with scoring guidelines (so that students know how they are being graded on each assignment)
-7 rubrics
THIS PRODUCT IS EDITABLE! I'm making the Passion Project available as editable Google Documents and Google Slides presentations because I know that each teacher will want to tailor this to meet the needs of their learners.
