Product Description
Post a CommentThis is a comprehensive unit on finances which can be used for students in grades 8-12. I have taught this unit to my 8th graders, 10th graders, and seniors.
This unit is good to give an overview to students of how to manage money and understand how finances work. It applies real life skills and scenarios and the students really enjoy it because it is tailored to each individual's future career and income.
I live in San Diego, California but these lessons can be easily adapted to any part of the country by changing the tax rates and prices to your area.
This unit includes lessons on:
- Choosing a future career
- Analyzing sample pay stubs
- Creating their own pay stub based off of their future career income
- The importance of saving and investing
- Estimating a budget based off of their net income from their pay stub
- Creating their own budget based off of their net income from their pay stub
- Managing Expenses
- Credit cards
I have also included answer keys for the lessons.
There is an 11 question test to assess student's knowledge after the unit is complete.
