Teaching Experience
Bonjour! ¡Hola! My name is Lisa Bartels, and my curriculum company is Explore! Curriculum. I’m an experienced, enthusiastic classroom teacher who loves developing activities to help my students EXPLORE! I’ve taught English, French, and Spanish in grades 6-12 for over 20 years; 12 of those years were in international schools in Cameroon, Africa and in the Philippines. I'm currently helping build a French magnet program for middle school. I’m also a frequent workshop presenter, and I love helping teachers deepen their reading, vocabulary, and speaking instruction in their classrooms. My Teaching Style
I believe the best learning is guided play, and my resources are designed to help students experience the joy of discovering new content. I use comprehensible input, lots of production, and a hands-on / kinesthetic element for reinforcing language structure. When I'm not writing curriculum, I am usually volunteering at church or camping and jet skiing with my husband, four kids, Luna the dog, and el Picador, our pet hedgehog.
