Duties:
Ensure the collecting, accessioning, and archiving of historically significant material.
Maintain a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the arrangement and content of the archive to ensure effective operations.
Protect the archive by performing appropriate archival conservation and preservation work to ensure the long-term preservation of material, both digital and hard-copy.
Review and identify archive materials for potential security downgrading and eventual declassification according to prescribed guidance.
Oversee and coordinate circulation of materials in the archive.
Requirements:
Advanced degree in Archival Studies or Library and Information Science.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant practical experience.
Professional knowledge of archival principles, concepts, methodology, and techniques.
Familiarity with National Archive and Records Administration (NARA) standards and publications.
Knowledge of a broad range of related historical fields, including modern military history, strategic deterrence theory, and post-World War II defense policy.
Understanding of methods, procedures, and techniques used to assist researchers and staff members in locating and retrieving archival materials.
Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Nuclear Command and Control-Extremely Sensitive Information (NC2-ESI).
